The rooms at Initial By Balladins Geneve / St-Genis-Pouilly are cozy and comfortable, making you feel right at home. The LCD TV with canal + channels is a great addition for entertainment, and the free WiFi access ensures you can stay connected with ease. The private bathroom with a shower and toilet is convenient, and the complimentary toiletries are a nice touch. Plus, the flat-screen television adds an extra touch of luxury to your stay.

I personally found the room to be a bit small for my liking. However, I understand that others may still enjoy the cozy and intimate feel it provides.

The description from the hotel was correct and we got exactly what we wanted. The preis was really good, the hotel stuffs were kind and we had a wonderful view from our room to the hills.

The room was a bit tatty. The hotel was generally very noisy, partly by design (long echoing hallways, thin walls and a gap under the room door), partly due to other guest (playing the tv loud very late into the night etc). I wouldn't recommend this for families, but I guess for backpackers it's alright.

This is a hotel & restaurant, the room is clean & comfortable, the food is not expensive (Hehe, I just looked at the menu, but had no time to tried it)

The location of this hotel was key for us during our Christmas stay. It was conveniently located near the CERN facility, which was our main purpose for visiting the area. the hotel was situated close to the Jura mountain, allowing us to enjoy a beautiful hike on La Reculet, just a short bus ride away. We appreciated the proximity to these attractions and the ease of accessing them from the hotel. Another advantage was the functioning internet, which allowed us to stay connected during our stay.

There were a few negative aspects that we encountered during our stay. The thin walls of the hotel did not offer much soundproofing, making it easy to hear conversations and noise from the neighboring rooms.

Polite and helpful staff and a comfortable stay at a very reasonable price close to other facilities and convenient for the Airport and centre of Geneva.

Heating in the room was off on arrival and the room was therefore cold for a considerable time. It was not very nice having to shower and change in a cold room. The heating in the restaurant for breakfast in the morning was poor. This should be adjusted in very cold weather.

Floor in the room was dirty; loud (very thin walls and doors); we were woken up an Sunday at 8:45h in order that the rooms could be cleaned up -> check-out was until noon! Conclusion: we'll never book this hotel again

We stayed at a conveniently located hotel near CERN on the French side, which saved us some money. For the price of 50€/night, we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room and the functionality of everything. the bed was comfortable enough and the hot water in the shower had good pressure. Despite the limited number of guests, it was very quiet, with negligible traffic noise. the internet worked well once we were able to connect. the hotel is situated in a peaceful area, and it was nice to take a walk around. the friendly person at the front desk made our stay even better. it was a good value for the price. Cons: Can't think of anything 😊.

For visitors of CERN the Balladins is a good alternative if the CERN hostel is fully booked.

You need a car to get to/from the hotel (located in industrial zone).

After good experience with Balladins at Vallence we have chosen this hotel. But this one was not clean, it would need big general cleaning & maintainance - lot of equipment was hanging on last screw (heating etc.)
